The recording
This recording comes from the top floor of the terminal parking garage on Cicero Avenue, where about three-quarters of the airport is in view for a couple of dollars in parking. I got there around 7PM on August 3, 2026, the last of three Chicago airports that day, and stayed through sunset. Nearly everything moving was a Southwest 737, which you'll hear if you listen through the album. Read the field notes →
